Ouray Working Dog Club is a dog training club specializing in the dog sport of schutzhund/IGP.
Ouray WDC was formed in 2015 as a multi-disciplinary dog training club. Though our main focus is schutzhund we welcome people wanting to train their dogs no matter their discipline. We have experience in many venues and would love to help you achieve your training goals whether it be competition or just a very well trained companion dog. Our goal is continuous learning, camaraderie, and helping each other take our dogs as far as we can while having fun in a supportive, inclusive environment.
We have members that train and trial in a variety of dog sports:
- AKC/UKC obedience trials
- Mondioring
- Nosework
- Dock Diving
- Tracking
- Search and Rescue
Ouray Working Dog Club also holds public dog obedience classes several times a year and has a drop in obedience class to keep those skills sharp for qualified graduates of our obedience program.
Ouray Working Dog Club is affiliated with The United Schutzhund Clubs of America, the Deutscher Verband der Gebrauchshundsportvereine (DVG), and American Schutzhund. We are able to hold trials under all these parent organizations.
